PARIS — The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be previewed via a relief sculpture at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
The S-Class is not set for a debut at Paris, but the sculpture — dubbed "Aesthetics S" — gives a general idea of the silhouette of the flagship sedan. The German automaker is also planning a light show during the Paris auto show that previews the look of the future S-Class.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will debut in the first half of 2013.
"The sculpture highlights the artistic aspects of design," said Mercedes-Benz in a statement on Tuesday. "With the design and proportions of 'Aesthetics S,' we are communicating a modern sense of status, sensual shapes and stylish sportiness."
The future S-Class is inspired by four previous S-Class models, the model series 189, 108, 126 and 221.
The 2014 S-Class will get a new inflatable seatbelt, the automaker said earlier.
No other details were released about the 2014 S-Class. The big sedan is expected to get the 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine as standard equipment.
Edmunds says: An elegant and artistic way to drum up interest in the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but probably not enough concrete information for most people.
