- Jaguar announced on Friday that the 2014 Jaguar F-Type's coming-out party is set for the 2012 Paris Auto Show.
- The F-Type will be launched as a convertible with a choice of three gasoline engines, including a new derivative of the current supercharged 5.0-liter V8, Jaguar said.
- The F-Type is a two-seat convertible based on the C-X16 concept.
The unveiling will take place on September 27.
The F-Type will be launched as a convertible with a choice of three gasoline engines, including 340- and 380-horsepower versions of Jaguar's 3.0-liter supercharged V6 and a new derivative of the current supercharged 5.0-liter V8, Jaguar said.
"Following the F-Type's 'camouflaged' public drive at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June of this year, testing of the final verification prototypes has continued in some of the harshest environments in the world," said the company in a statement on its Web site.
Jaguar also posted a new video of the F-Type with Ian Hoban, Jaguar's vehicle line director, explaining that the car is in the process of being refined.
"We're refining and adding those last few percentage points which will turn a great sports car into an exceptional one," he said.
Jaguar also has plans to build an F-Type coupe, as well as a performance-oriented R edition.
