PARIS — The redesigned 2013 Fiat Panda 4x4, the Italian automaker's mini-SUV, will debut in September at the 2012 Paris Auto Show. The Panda is not sold in the U.S.

The Panda 4x4 gets a new 75-horsepower 1.3-liter MultiJet II diesel engine or a new 85-hp 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo engine.

Two new models in the Panda lineup, the Trekking and Natural Power, will also be shown in Paris. The Panda Natural Power is equipped with the 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo modified to run on gasoline and methane. The Trekking version gives the front-wheel-drive Panda a beefier 4x4 look and Fiat's Traction+ system, a traction control system that provides better grip.

Toscana green metallic and Sicilia orange paint treatments are new additions to the Panda's color palette.

Other details include black exterior trim, new foglights and 15-inch alloy wheels. Fiat describes the revised Panda 4x4 as "a genuine 'Super Panda,' ready to tackle mountain mule tracks and the urban jungle with the same cool."

Edmunds says: You'll have to admire the Fiat Panda from afar, since it is aimed at European audiences.
