TURIN, Italy — Fiat's Abarth subsidiary is launching esseesse tuning kits for the Abarth 500C and Abarth Punto Evo at the upcoming 2010 Paris Auto Show.
The esseesse kit boosts output in the Abarth 500C to 160 horsepower and torque to 170 pound-feet, enabling a top speed of 130 mph and 0-60-mph acceleration in less than 7.6 seconds.
The Abarth Punto Evo esseesse delivers 180 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, with a top speed of 134 mph and zero to 60 mph in less than 7.5 seconds.
The Abarth Punto Evo esseesse is painted Campovolo Gray, while the Abarth 500C esseesse features a two-tone scheme of Campovolo Gray and Pista Gray. Fiat notes that Campovolo is the name of the airfield across from Abarth's headquarters in the Turin suburb of Corso Marche, where young Carlo Abarth bought the same shade of gray paint for his cars as used on the aircraft.
The Abarth Punto Evo esseesse is fitted with 18-inch titanium-color alloy rims, black leather Abarth Corse by Sabelt seats and a satellite navigation system developed with Magneti Marelli. The Abarth 500C esseesse gets the same sat-nav system, plus a Record Monza exhaust system.
