TOKYO — European buyers will get their first glimpse of the updated 2011 Lexus IS at the upcoming 2010 Paris Auto Show.
The current IS gets a midcycle freshening featuring revised headlamps, taillamps, grille and wheels, plus new LED daytime running lights. The car also adds new exterior colors.
For the European market, a new IS 200d, fitted with a 148-horsepower 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel, replaces the 220d. V6 gasoline engines in the IS 250 now meet tougher Euro 5 emission standards, with no loss of performance.
The F-Sport model in Europe gets a deeper front spoiler with faired-in foglamps, a unique grille and a rear spoiler with integral stoplight. New 18-inch alloy wheels, finished in dark silver with a black center Lexus roundel, are said to be inspired by the high-performance IS-F.
The cockpit is trimmed in leather and Alcantara and features an F-Sport steering wheel, shift lever and sport pedals.
