NEW YORK — A Wonder Woman-inspired Kia Sportage will be unveiled on March 27 at the 2013 New York Auto Show as the seventh vehicle in the Korean automaker's lineup of Justice League cars.

Kia Motors America provided a sneak peek at the Wonder Woman Sportage courtesy of a media invitation to the unveiling.

The custom Sportage features the initials WW embedded into the grille and star-shaped wheels that appear to mimic the design of her costume. No other details have been provided about the car, but it is expected to debut in the red, blue and white colors of the comic-book heroine.

A Kia Sorento that features all of the Justice League characters will be unveiled later this year and auctioned off to benefit charity.

The Justice League vehicles, created in partnership with DC Entertainment, have been a highlight of recent auto shows and the 2012 SEMA Show.

They include the Aquaman-inspired Kia Rio, Batman-inspired Kia Optima, Cyborg-inspired Kia Forte, Flash-inspired Kia Forte Koup, Green Lantern-inspired Kia Soul and Superman-inspired Kia Optima Hybrid.

The sale of the Justice League Sorento will benefit We Can Be Heroes, a charity that works to alleviate hunger in the Horn of Africa.

DC Comics describes Wonder Woman as "the most famous heroine of all time."

"No offense to the Lara Crofts, Buffys, or Disney princesses of the world, but none of them have been plastered on as many magazine covers, adorned as many T-shirts, or sold the countless comics, dolls, and action figures that Wonder Woman has," it notes. "The full package of beauty, brains, and brawn, she's been a feminist icon since her star-spangled intro in 1941."

Edmunds says: Wonder how Kia will work Wonder Woman's weapons — including her magic tiara, Lasso of Truth and unbreakable bracelets — into the design of the special Kia Sportage.
