AFFALTERBACH, Germany — It's the end of an era as the 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition debuts at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show and 2013 Tokyo Auto Show.

More details will be revealed at the car's unveiling, but Mercedes-Benz said it will be built in a limited run of 350 units. Pricing was not announced. The base 2014 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Coupe starts at $202,425, including a $925 destination charge.

Making its debut alongside the SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG.

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition with the signature gullwing doors is equipped with a 591-horsepower AMG 6.3-liter V8 front-mid engine.

The SLS AMG debuted in 2009.

It is expected that the SLS AMG will be replaced next year by a new sports car currently in the works at the German automaker's performance brand. As Mercedes-Benz noted, the SLS AMG was the first vehicle to be completely built by Mercedes AMG.

Edmunds says: The Final Edition will be a collector's item. Expect it to be sold out in a heartbeat.
