LOS ANGELES — The 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe, which was unveiled at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, will start at $65,895, including an $895 destination charge, when it goes on sale in the spring.

The midrange 2015 Jaguar F-Type S Coupe starts at $77,895, including shipping. The top-of-the-line 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe starts at $99,895, including shipping.

The long-awaited F-Type Coupe is spun off the Jaguar C-X16 concept, which was revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, but skips the concept's KERS-type hybrid propulsion. The design is also influenced by the Jaguar F-Type convertible. Design cues on the coupe include twin "shark gill" openings on either side of the grille, a hidden rear spoiler that deploys at 70 mph and LED taillights. Buyers get a choice of aluminum or panoramic glass roof panels.

A carbon-ceramic Matrix braking system is optional, along with a power-assisted tailgate.

The F-Type Coupe is built on an all-aluminum platform.

The high-end F-Type R Coupe is equipped with a supercharged 550-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine. It sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph.

The F-Type S Coupe and F-Type Coupe are equipped with supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engines. The base car delivers 340 hp, while the midrange car delivers 380 hp.

A ZF eight-speed "Quickshift" transmission with full manual sequential control rounds out the powertrain package on all models.

The F-Type R Coupe is the sportiest of the bunch, with performance seats with inflatable bolsters for support during high-G cornering. This model also gets the top-spec 770-watt surround-sound system by Meridian.

Edmunds says: This hardtop version of the Jaguar F-Type sports car may be the darling of the Los Angeles auto show.
