LOS ANGELES — Ford has updated the graphics on the 2013 Mustang Boss 302 and Boss Laguna Seca, with a new School Bus Yellow exterior paint color and a "hockey stick" stripe package that recalls the classic 1970 Mustang Boss 302. The new Boss will be shown this week at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The bright-yellow hue honors Parnelli Jones' Bud Moore-prepared 1970 Trans-Am championship Mustang, according to Ford, while the over-the-fender stripes are the first modern application of the hockey-stick motif on a production car.
The 2013 Mustang Boss 302 continues to be powered by a specially tuned 5.0-liter V8 that delivers 444 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.
The Boss Laguna Seca gets even beefier suspension and more aero mods, while losing the rear seat. For 2013, the Boss Laguna Seca adds Sterling Gray exterior accents, as well as two-tone gray and silver wheels.
Both Boss models get a new grille, splitter and hood extractors, as well as revised head- and taillamps. Options for 2013 include a Torsen limited-slip differential and Recaro seats.
