SEOUL, South Korea — The SsangYong SIV-1 concept, short for "smart interface vehicle," will debut in March at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.
The SIV-1 is roughly the same size as a Jeep Liberty. The Korean concept rides on a 106.3-inch wheelbase and seats four passengers. No technical details or production plans were released.
The SIV-1 crossover gets a sporty profile and muscular side panels. SsangYong describes it as a "mid-premium crossover."
Unlike Korean automakers Hyundai and Kia, SsangYong does not sell vehicles in the U.S. The SIV-1 concept is noteworthy because it heralds a new design era at SsangYong.
Edmunds says: The SsangYong SIV-1 is surprisingly attractive for a company that created the Rodius, sometimes called one of the ugliest cars ever built.
