GENEVA — A one-off Aston Martin Rapide Bertone shooting-brake concept will make its formal debut next week at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.

The code name for the stretched concept is Jet 2+2 because it is inspired by the 2004 Jet 2 concept, an imaginative shooting brake based on the Vanquish.

The new concept honors 60 years of collaboration between Aston Martin and Bertone.

The mechanicals for the 476-horsepower Aston Martin Rapide remain the same in the concept. Bertone says the styling cues combine a "stretched and muscular car body and a functional use of the hatchback."

The four-passenger cockpit is in a 2+2 configuration. The car transforms into a practical hauler when the rear seatbacks are folded down and a double sliding bottom is deployed to cover them.

The cabin gets luxury touches including aluminum, exotic woods and two-tone leather trim.

Edmunds says: Bertone aims for some dramatic presence at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show.
