GENEVA — The ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour concept blends the attributes of a GT sports car and an SUV, according to the design house. The ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour debuted at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show and was one of the surprises during the auto show's opening events.

The two-seater Parcour concept is equipped with a 550-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 Lamborghini engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It sprints from zero to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds.

The concept is named after the French sport of parkour. For Americans unfamiliar with the term, ItalDesign Giugiaro points to the opening sequence of the James Bond movie Casino Royale for reference.

"Parkour is not a sport, in that there are no rules, teams or points," according to the Urban Dictionary. "It is not about competition or showing off. Parkour can be thought of as being chased by someone. The trick of parkour is to use little wasted movement while going past an obstacle."

ItalDesign Giugiaro unveiled the Parcour concept in coupe and roadster variants.

The concept features butterfly doors, a detached A-pillar that serves as a wind deflector, 22-inch wheels and tires, and dramatic roof pillars.

The cabin gets a plexiglas dash panel with a multifunction split-screen LCD monitor. The car's bucket seats are fixed, but the steering wheel and pedals are fully adjustable.

Drivers can choose from four suspension settings, including Comfort, Off-Road, Ice or Racetrack.

Edmunds says: A fitting way for ItalDesign Giugiaro to mark its 45th anniversary.
