GENEVA — Volkswagen affiliates Seat and Skoda will unveil new five-door editions of the Mii and the Citigo at the upcoming 2012 Geneva Auto Show.

The Seat Mii and the Skoda Citigo are companions to the VW Up! minicar. VW unveiled the five-door Up! in late January.

Like the Up!, the new five-door Mii and Citigo will be launched in European markets in May, with prices expected to start from less than $13,000.

Both the three- and five-door variants offer a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine in two outputs, 59 horsepower and 74 hp. The most frugal versions return up to 57 mpg on the European driving cycle.

Edmunds.com says: Let's see if badge engineering works any better for the VW group in Europe than it has for other multi-brand companies in other markets.
