GENEVA — Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina has pulled ahead the official unveiling of its Cambiano concept, using social media, including Facebook, to reveal the first full photos of the car.

Named for the company's headquarters city outside Turin, the Cambiano is a four-seater with the profile of a sedan, but with only three doors — one on the driver side and two on the passenger side.

According to Automotive News, the concept is powered by a plug-in diesel hybrid powertrain, with a 60kW electric motor at each wheel and a small diesel-powered turbine that acts as a range extender and can also power the wheels.

With peak output of more than 800 horsepower, the Cambiano has a 500-mile range, including more than 125 miles in pure electric mode, with a top speed of more than 155 mph and 0-60 acceleration in less than 4.2 seconds, the publication said.

Edmunds.com says: The powertrain sounds intriguing, but the design looks surprisingly timid and pale next to Infiniti's Emerg-E.
