GENEVA — Opel will introduce the ultimate performance version of its Astra GTCat the upcoming Geneva show. The Opel Astra OPC will be sold in Europe, while a companion model, the Vauxhall Astra VXR, will be marketed in the U.K.

Based on the Astra GTC three-door hatchback, the new Astra OPC features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline direct-injection engine that makes 276 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Top speed is 155 mph.

The Astra OPC is fitted with a sport-tuned suspension, including high-performance front struts.
