GENEVA — Jaguar is reviving its most exclusive — and most potent — performance car, the XKR-S, at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The car will arrive this fall at U.S. dealers as a 2012 model, Jaguar confirmed Wednesday to Edmunds.com.
The British automaker, owned by India's Tata Motors, says the latest edition of the XKR-S not only is "the fastest production Jaguar ever, but it is also the most agile, nimble and driver-focused."
Jaguar won't release full specifications until after the car is publicly unveiled next week. But it said the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 has been tuned to deliver 550 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. The latest XKR-S can accelerate from zero to 60 in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 186 mph.
In the U.S., the 2011 Jaguar XKR is powered by a more sedate version of the same engine, rated at 510 hp and 461 lb-ft.
