TURIN, Italy — Fiat's struggling Lancia brand has released a teaser sketch of its redesigned Ypsilon minicar as part of an online New Year's greeting card.
The sketch shows a small five-door hatchback whose overall styling theme doesn't appear to deviate dramatically from the current model.
Lancia's animated online greeting included the cryptic message: "A new horizon, three new Lancia models."
The new Ypsilon is slated to reach European dealers next summer.
Corporate parent Fiat eventually wants to combine the Lancia and Chrysler brands into a single entity, sharing most platforms, powertrains and sheet metal, with choice of brand depending on market.
