FRANKFURT, Germany — The Suzuki iV-4 compact crossover concept, which takes aim at the Nissan Juke, debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show.

The "i" stands for "individuality," the "V" for "vehicle" and "4" for four-wheel drive.

The iV-4 resembles the Range Rover Evoque and features a clamshell hood, five-slotted front grille and a new exterior color "Brilliant Turquoise Metallic." Suzuki said buyers will be able to customize the iV-4 with different exterior parts, colors and texture.

The concept is 162.4 inches in length and rides on a 98.4-inch wheelbase. Powertrain specifications were not provided.

The production version of the Suzuki iV-4 will launch in 2015, but for Europe only. American Suzuki Motor Corporation announced last November that it will wind down and discontinue new vehicle sales in the U.S. The American subsidiary of the Japanese automaker also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Edmunds says: A stylish compact crossover from Suzuki, but one with no implications for U.S. consumers.
