"The vehicle's unveiling in Frankfurt will be used to gauge potential customer response for future showroom models," said Kia in a statement on Friday.
The B-segment concept was designed in Europe "with European tastes and expectations very much in mind," Kia noted.
Although no powertrain details were disclosed, the B-segment concept features a green outline around the grille, a hint that it may be an electric or hybrid model.
The concept is set for a formal unveiling on September 10.
