FRANKFURT, Germany — After a prolonged striptease, Honda has finally released the first full photos of its latest-generation European Civic. The car, exclusively a five-door hatchback for the European market, will be produced at Honda's Swindon plant in the U.K., and goes on sale in early 2012.
Honda earlier said its redesigned Civic for Europe will feature a cleaner, more powerful four-cylinder diesel engine. The latest version of the i-DTEC engine will make 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
Honda said the Civic redesign for Europe focuses on ride and handling, reduced CO2 emissions and improved interior quality.
