DETROIT — The 2014 Detroit Auto Show is revving up, with organizers saying at least 50 concept and production vehicles will make their global debut at the event.

"The show is going to rock," said Bob Shuman, show chairman and a third-generation Detroit area car dealer.

The annual event is produced by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association. The show kicks off on January 13 for media/industry week. The black-tie charity preview is January 17 and the show opens to the public on January 18.

Acura, Cadillac, Chrysler and Hyundai are among the automakers that have confirmed worldwide vehicle debuts. Audi, Bentley, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Honda, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo will also host vehicle debuts.

Grammy winner Sheryl Crow will perform at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show charity preview.
