DETROIT — The 2014 Audi SQ5, the new top-of-the-line Audi Q5 that churns out 354 horsepower, is set to debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

The 2014 SQ5 will go on sale in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2013, targeting high-end versions of the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Lexus RX 350 and Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class.

Audi of America told Edmunds that pricing is not yet available.

This is the first Audi SUV to get the "S" treatment here. The new SQ5 is equipped with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. Details include a lowered chassis and sport modifications to the grille, bumper and roof spoiler.

Audi's SQ5 sprints from zero-62 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.

The SQ5 is fitted with 20-inch wheels as standard equipment; 21-inch wheels are optional.

The cabin gets gray dials with white numerals. The pedals and shift paddles have a shiny aluminum-look finish.

Audi offers the SQ5 with a diesel engine in Europe.

Edmunds says: The diesel version of the Audi SQ5 would have been an intriguing choice for U.S. customers, but many should be happy with this muscle-bound version of the Audi SUV.
