What Is It?
2013 Dodge Dart Mopar '13
What's Special About It?
Only 500 of these special-edition Mopar '13 Dodge Darts will be built, but they actually exist as a showcase for the myriad aftermarket items available for Dodge's new compact sedan.
Performance items include the 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, six-speed manual transmission and the springs and shocks from the Dart's GT trim level. Mopar items include gloss black 18-inch wheels, a performance-tuned exhaust system and slotted brake rotors. The exterior features Mopar blue stripes, a front chin spoiler, rear air diffuser and a deck lid spoiler.
The interior gets much of the attention. Most noticeable is the leather upholstery done by Katzkin. The driver seat has blue leather with black piping and stitching, while the rest of seats have black leather with blue details. It's odd or cool, depending on your point of view. Other items include a special Mopar shift knob, gloss black and chrome trim pieces and an abundance of blue stitching.
It's a little tacky in places, very cool in others, but ultimately shows how much can be done to the Dodge Dart to set it apart from the Civics and Corollas of this world.
What Edmunds Says: It may not be a class leader, but at least the Dodge Dart allows you to customize it like few other vehicles at its price point.
