Believe it or not, but after all the fanfare in Motor City there are still some cars and trucks left to unveil at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. Arriving just a few short weeks after the big extravaganza to the east, the Chicago auto show is often the place to see production models that are headed for dealerships in the spring.
This year is no different, as the Chicago auto show will play host to several world debuts that promise to keep the industry buzzing well into February. After winning North American Car of the Year with the Elantra sedan in Detroit, Hyundai is hoping to keep the buzz train rolling with the introduction of the Elantra coupe in Chicago. It has some tough competition in the segment, but Hyundai thinks it will be another hit.
In a completely different category is the GMC Acadia. The midsize sport-utility is scheduled for a refresh and GMC said it will make its world debut in Chicago. After several years of strong sales, the well-regarded crossover is getting a new look and probably some unique new features as well.
The GMC and the Hyundai are just a couple of the new vehicles that we expect to see when the show kicks off on February 8. We'll be there to cover all the news with daily blog posts, photos and videos straight from the show floor.
