CHICAGO — A limited production run of the 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and Challenger SRT8 392 will get the new "Green With Envy" exterior color, which honors "some of the coolest paint colors from our past," said Chrysler on Wednesday at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.

Dodge said production of the retro-inspired models starts this month. The Challenger SRT8 Green With Envy, priced at $46,175, including an $825 shipping charge and $1,300 gas-guzzler tax, can be ordered now. The Challenger R/T Classic, with a price tag of $36,785, including shipping and $1,000 gas-guzzler tax, can be ordered in March.

The eye-popping color — roughly the same shade as Kermit the Frog or the Grinch Who Stole Christmas — harks back to the "Sublime" and "Green Go" Dodge Challengers from the 1970s and the "Snakeskin Green" Dodge Vipers from 2008-'10.

The Challenger R/T Classic gets two A-line body-side stripes — either in standard matte black or optional white. Other details include new five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels and a cabin with Dark Slate Nappa leather seats and a center console with Green With Envy accent stitching. The muscle car is equipped with a 372-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V8 linked to a standard six-speed manual transmission.

The Challenger SRT8 392 Green With Envy gets dual full-body black stripes and 20-inch five-spoke SRT-exclusive wheels. It also gets the Dark Slate Nappa leather seats with Green With Envy accents. It is equipped with a 470-hp 6.4-liter Hemi V8 linked to a standard six-speed manual transmission.

If green is not your shade, the Challenger SRT8 can also be ordered in Billett Metallic Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Redline 3 Pearl Coat and Toxic Orange Pearl Coat.
