LONDON — A special edition of the wildly popular Range Rover Evoque, created in collaboration with former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, debuts next week at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. A teaser video, with few details, was released by Land Rover.
The British utility vehicle maker, owned by Indian conglomerate Tata, said only that "Victoria Beckham will reveal the Range Rover Evoque Special Edition in Beijing on Sunday 22nd April," with a link to a special Web site.
Beckham, now a fashion designer and wife of international soccer superstar David Beckham, was named Range Rover's Creative Design Executive in July 2010. When the announcement was made, Land Rover design boss Gerry McGovern said Beckham would collaborate on "future special edition Range Rover design projects, starting with a Special Edition Range Rover Evoque."
The Victoria Beckham Special Edition Evoque was rumored to appear last summer. At the time, Britain's Autocar said "the design of the special Evoque has been finalized, but its launch has been delayed until she is ready to go back to work, following the birth of her and David Beckham's daughter, Harper Seven."
