TURIN, Italy — Italian coachbuilder Bertone plans to bring a running prototype of its Nuccio concept next week to the 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

Created by Bertone design director Mike Robinson and unveiled as a styling model last month at the Geneva auto show, the Nuccio concept marks the company's centennial and is named for Nuccio Bertone, son of the founder, who led the Turin design house until his death in 1997.

The concept has been updated, with the Geneva model's unusual full-width LED headlamp replaced by two more conventional units. The side mirrors are larger and the windshield is a bit smaller, but the Nuccio retains its highly distinctive shape.

The running prototype has been fitted with a 473-horsepower 4.3-liter V8 and automatic transmission.

Bertone said the prototype will be sold on the collector's market.

Edmunds.com says: We'd guess this one-of-a-kind showcar is probably a seven-figure property.
