MUNICH, Germany — BMW will introduce a long-wheelbase edition of the 3 Series sedan for the Chinese market at the upcoming 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

The long-wheelbase 3 Series features a stretch of 4.3 inches, with much of the additional room in the rear seat.

BMW will offer the long-wheelbase 3 Series to Chinese customers in three versions — 320Li, 328Li and 335Li.

The long-wheelbase 3 Series will go into production later this year at the German automaker's joint-venture plant in Shenyang.
