What a blast!
By BuddyDog on 12/24/03 00:00 AM (PST)

2004 Audi TT Coupe 250hp quattro AWD 2dr Hatchback (3.2L 6cyl 6A)

Review

The ride is very firm but not punishing, even driving 800 miles in a day. Steering is immediate and has excellent road feel. The suspension improvements give the car excellent handling. Altitude does not seem to have an effect on the pulling power of the V-6. This car draws a LOT of attention from other motorists, so be prepared to answer questions when you stop. The dsg handles up and downshifts with no fuss. A nice feature is being able to downshift by pulling the paddles by the steering wheel to use engine braking, even when the transmission is in D or S. Fuel economy is very good for a high performance car, averaging 26 mpg so far.

I am lemon lawing this vehicle! Nothing works correctly, my TT has been out of service for 23 days and I have only had it for 10 months. It was a brand new car when I bought it. If you buy this car, be prepared for lots of time at the shop and plan on driving a loaner.

Problems with Audi TT

Vehicle

2004 Audi TT Coupe 180hp Fwd 2dr Hatchback (1.8L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

Review

Not a 2004 TT, but a 2000. Problems encountered out of warranty: AC Compressor - $1,500. Cooling Fan - $300. Belt Tensioner - $280. Insulation fell into AC Blower - $275. Broken Wire to Turbo - $115. CD Changer Stopped Working - $350. Oyxgen Sensors - $700. Electrical problems come & go. Car is serviced regularly, never abused and looks like new, but hesitate to go more than 25 miles from home.

TT

Aesthetically, the TT is still one of the most pleasing cars around, inside and out. The TT drives like a go-kart; turn the wheel and the car goes with rigidity and assurance. There are cars with more power available (and more power and less weight would be a good thing for the TT), but quarter-mile times and top speed are not what TT drivers should be looking for. The TT comes into its own on windy country roads, where it is simply a blast to drive.

WOW. With the new 250 HP engine, the TT delivers even more zoom than before. If you're looking to buy any other coupe you owe it to yourself to drive this car first. One thing is for certain about this car, unless you buy a $100K + exotic you will never get more stares and compliments on your car than with a TT.

This is one fun Car!!

Let me just start off by saying that this is one fun car to drive. I have read a lot of articles talking about how it's not as fast as some other cars out there. Let me tell you I have driven the 350Z and the boxter. Once you get past the launch. this car is every bit as fast. It is just harder to get the car going from a standing start. And what a lot of these articles forget is the allwheel drive, it is amazing. It handles like a dream, very presise. Definatly a sporty ride. Very little body roll. I have never owned a car that makes me want to go into the garage in the middle of the night and just look at it. This car does!
