Audi TT timing belt
Written by: pktrkt2002 on Jan 13, 2011 9:52:32 AM
I've had my 2002 TT since 2003, when I purchased it slightly used. It's had regular maintenance and not been driven hard, and it spends most of its time in a nice, heated garage. On Dec. 20th, the timing belt went at 59,000 miles and took out my head - 46,000 miles short of the 105,000 mile scheduled replacement in my owners manual. I was without a car for three weeks, ... Hi. Sorry for your troubles but Audi will only cover damages caused by a failed timing belt. The replacement of the belt is an owner responsibility. It is action like these from Audi that have soured my relationship with this car manufacturer. The worse part, and I hope I am not ruining your day, but this belt was an issue on this same motor on a previous model before the TT ... Read More

2003 tt roadster
Written by: joconnor4 on Apr 30, 2009 1:07:20 PM
Today I needed my key fobs re charged, I was told my timing belt has hairline cracks. They are replacing it now. I have learned that I should have received a notice about a year ago to have it checked, as the result of a class action suit. I am certain that had I been alerted, I would have been covered now rather than bearing the expense. Anyone have any suggestions ... Read More

New Buyer?
Written by: zue on May 21, 2005 7:17:13 PM
Have drooled over the Audi TT roadster for months, now, selling all that I own to buy one, BUT, after reading all the negative feedback on the car, it sounds like I would need to be a millionaire to keep one running. Am I only hearing from "lemon" owners, or are these dash, oil, tire, complaints common with all TT's / Audi products? Sounds like I should only consider a 2003, ... Read More

Text of Sunday NY Times article on VW/Audi/Coil Pack

Rather than just rehash the known facts of this fiasco, Ms. Jensen has shown that VW has committed the clissic bungled PR. To Buy Or Not To Buy
Written by: edmtownhall on Aug 5, 2002 11:44:12 AM
I'm seriously considering the purchase of a 2002 Audi TT Coupe, 180 HP FWD (possibly the AWD) but I'm hesitant based on some owner-feedback. Granted, once you spend upwards of 30K on vehicle, you'll probably defend it with your life (kinda like buying a Macintosh, which I have and will continue to do, regardless of the inflated prices and slower processors) which is why it's hard to get an un-biased opinion. ... news on the automatic
Written by: ttwannabe on Aug 16, 2002 2:48:30 PM
I talked to several Audi dealerships, and it sounds like 2003s will come with automatic as an option. They gave me different dates for when the cars will hit the lots though: ranging from October to February. One dealer told me that auto will only come with the 180/nonQuatro model. Interestingly, he quoted $42K as the price for the car, which sounds odd since the comparably equipped manual TT is only ... Read More
