I have some half-good news. I have a 2001 TT roadster, bought new, and the cluster failed under warranty and was replaced in 2002. The new cluster had the temp gauge off by one from the get go: when the car is started, instead of starting from the far left, it started one notch from the far left. Today, my 2001 Audi TT Quatro would not shift into 1st or 2nd gear. I was able to get reverse and back into a safe plane since I was near home. So the deal, they will save me $4000 by not putting a new transmission in. The rebuilt transmission and a new clutch (expected at 80,000 miles) will cost $5660. This settlement is horseshit. The court granted settlement for the model years of 2000 to 2004. I have a 2001 with 15,000 miles on it and it is not covered by Audi. Why? Even though I have a receipt validating a certified diagnosis of the cluster problem within the time frame allowed by the settlement; Audi reneged on their promise and didn't allow my claim because ... Hi. Sorry for your troubles but Audi will only cover damages caused by a failed timing belt. The replacement of the belt is an owner responsibility. It is action like these from Audi that have soured my relationship with this car manufacturer. The worse part, and I hope I am not ruining your day, but this belt was an issue on this same motor on a previous model before ... Read More...

That link doesn't work... the local audi shop said only original owners could get that so I need to spend another $1000 for it. $750 on parts adn $250 labor. ouch. Rest of car is in GREAT shape, they said though.. Timing belt just cost me $950. DAMN. But I'll love the car, live and learn... Read More...

Iit will be a year in a couple weeks since I purchased my 2001 Audi TT coupe and for that last 5 months I've been at the shop.
