I too have a 2006 S4 6 speed convertible with what appears to be an oil problem. I have had to add oil as follows after the oil light came: a quart of oil at 90,727, 91,245 and 92,241 miles 2 quarts at 92,990 miles a quart at 94,990 miles and 2 quarts at 95,570 miles At about 92,000 miles my local Audi deal performed a "weight test" in which they ... Thanks jmaroun i really appreciate your advice I actually was just kinda iffy on the s4 until i read your reply, then i decided to give it another drive. That thing is SO fast, the engine is really its best attribute. Awesome, awesome engine. It just pulls. The suspension is also really great it feels really stable and the quattro does give it a stable feeling (i know thats a cliche). ... Read More

I'm half amazed that I haven't thought much of such a possiblity before. Interesting.. 06 330 Vs 05 S4 255hp Vs 340hp nice..and that's not the most important factor... the S4 is more beautiful by ... Now im just down to either a 2006 bmw 330i (the xi is like 4000 more when you are buying used) or a 2005 audi s4. i think the bmw drives better, and gets better gas milage, but the audi is faster, is awd, and is a LITTLE cheaper / easier to find the way i want. Hi all, I'm considering purchasing this 25th anniversary S4: link title I drove it today, and it's pretty sweet. However it's got a black roof. EVERY other pic I've seen on the 'net of the 25th anniversary cars shows the roof body-coloured. The Carfax is clean, so I'm curious if Audi changed the roof colour during the limited production run, or if the original owner must have painted it?

If you're looking for an '06 S4 in May/June you should have no problem getting exactly what you want. I wouldn't expect them to start marking down the '06's until much later. My local dealer where I bought my '06 S4 in December didn't even have their 05.5's on closeout yet. I probably could have saved 4K on an 05.5 at the time, but I would have had to settle for ... They seem to have worked that problem out. The 2006 S4 is a 4th generation model and is probably as reliable as it's going to get. I don't even know if Audi has any new plans for the S4 in 2007. It looks like the RS4 is the next step that Audi is taking with their 4-series.

Kind of steep, I know, but anyone who tells you that CA is the most expensive state in the lower 48 is not kidding. The sales tax was 7.75% where I bought my S4. But your OTD price after tax, lo ... OK let's have a fact-based discussion. Firstly, which consumer report are you talking about? Go to Consumer Reports.org , and look up the BMW 3-series and Audi A4 reports. Granted, the Audi has atrocious reliability through 2001 (it is that reputation which hurts its resale value now ... ) but has shown consistent improvement since the new shape was introduced in 2002. Consumer Reports and Kelly Blue Book clearly show the M3 to be more reliable and a much better investment than the S4. Also, there is no 2006 M3 to compare to the 2006 S4.
