    Audi has really cut back on production of the 06-07 S4's models. They made too many 2004/2005 models with the new V8. Audi is trying to keep the S4 more exclusive and special with the new grill & styling.

    I have some friends who swear by Audi. Other friends swear AT the marque. I have no personal experience with Igolstadt products but I will admit that I find the S4 to be a tempting prospect. My local Audi dealer has two Dolphin Gray S4s, but unfortunately both of them are slushboxes... :(

    I'd add a few others to your list - the 2009 TL-S will have SH-AWD. Also, the G35x from Infiniti. Finally, for a budget buy, check out a Subaru Legacy GT Limited, or even a spec.B model.     What's sales tax in Cali? It depends on the city. 7.25% is the state sales tax, but some cities like LA and SF have it hiked to 8% or 8.25%.     The 2005 A6 had $4500 dealer cash, but not the S4 to my knowledge. I thought the A4/S4 were 2000-2500 depending on the model.

    My dealer has an Imola yellow car that sounds like your black/black. It is NOT a demo as far as I know and it is exactly $7,000 off. I suspect this is because it is yellow and because the new S4 has the navi system in it that Audi should have brought out two years ago.

    I just got my new 2005 Audi S4 tiptronic. Absolutely the best car I have ever owned. Came out of a 540i. Beautiful interior-gray leather (black ext), great looking, fast as hell, awd, great stereo, room for 4. What more could you ask for? Handles like its on rails. I always wanted a 911. Now I know I will never get one. This thing rocks!
