Just purchased a CPO recently. A truly wonderful car. Love the exterior and interior design. Real comfortable ride, kinda like driving a suped up Caddie. Feels like a bigger vehicle than it appears. Though heavier than most wagons, this gives me a safer feel. Performance has been very suprising so far. Instrumentation is a bit confusion though. Overall, great car.

Favorite Features

Exterior/interior design. Comfy ride. Performance.

Suggested Improvements

Gas mileage.

After 30,000 miles the Audi sevice people gave up on trying to fix the surge/lag problem that my 2003 Audi allroad has developed. I have spent $6,100 on new turbos (2),a torque converter, ECU, transmission control unit...etc. This car has had roughly $10,000 in warrenty work with no fix. Now they have made me an insulting offer to get me out of the car as a "courtesy" to buy another piece of junk Audi. I've owned Audi or Volkswagen products since, my 1970 Audi super 90, 1978 Scirocco, 1987 Quantum, 1998 A4 Avant, and 2003 allroad and after all that they make a lame offer of settlement. It's Audi's service problem not mine. Unless things change and change dramatically I will never buy another Volkswagen or Audi product again...GO Toyota !!!

Favorite Features

When the car runs smoothly. I'm telling them to just fix the darn thing according to the warranty by contract the same way they expect me to pay for it by contract.

Suggested Improvements

Being able to find and repair service related problems. Take care of loyal, long term customers. How much did it cost to develop the 35-year customer relationship? Audi in Rochester Hills doesn't care in spite of a significant drop in US sales. Nice Job...and why are sales dropping?

Successful blend of utility and comfort, good looks; fun to drive. Power. Roomy. Many useful features like the ski storage, the net in the luggage area, etc. Unlike with other German cars, controls and information display are a perfect compromise between completeness and ease of use. Very comfortable seats, adjust easily. Cons: Insufficient lumbar support, road rumble, excessive tire wear ($800 per set every 20,000 miles), pronounced delay of turbines on dead start, initial glitches that are typical for German cars. But with the excellent Audi service at Maplewood Imports, I have trouble remembering the details of the faults. The care now runs flawlessly.

Favorite Features

Exudes class, quality, solidness, luxury. Control design is excellent compromise between need for simplicity, ease of use and completeness. Perfect selection of features throughout. AWD and adjustable ground clearance allow travel where normal luxury cars can’t go. Perfect customer service.

Suggested Improvements

Fix road rumble, turbine delay on dead start, tire wear. Eliminate initial "infant mortality" problems through better quality control of components.

I am a wagon fan. We used to drive Volvos, but shifted to Audis after numerous test drives. The Audi Allroad is the most complete car we have had. Great interior and exterior, great sound system, fun engine, great versatility because of the pneumatics that allow you to increase clearance at the touch of a button, the only downside is very average gas mileage and some parts problems from third- parties. Having had both, there is no comparison between this car and the VolvoXC70 (which is a great car) - the Allroad is just better -- more fun, more capable. If I had to have only one car (and didn't need a third row of seats) this would be it.

Great car that I love to go to work in. The 1.2hr commute each way is a breeze. Don't like the lag but I have to adjust to it as I did on the ML. Wipers were misaligned. Got that fixed. Noisy and squeeshy brakes - don't like. With bike rack fairing, the buffet-thumpning wind at 45 with open sunroof stopped. No more problems there. OEM tires feathered out at 8500m. Rotated and will need to replace soon already. Stupid accel/resume button for cruise control.

Favorite Features

Acceleration and auto shift from 2nd to 3rd - she goes! Stlye is awesome! Unassuming luxury and sport - nobody else has it like this one. Safety features. Stereo.

Suggested Improvements

Fix cruise control accel/resume. Increase mini-fairing to moonroof. Brakes noisy and lots of bad comments on them- recall and fix on your dime! It's a $40k car - brakes should be perfect.

Better than PORSCHE Cayenne S

Review

The allroad offers more amenities for the money, incl. air suspension, rear seat heaters and OnStar, which is extra on the Cayenne S and standard only on the Cayenne Turbo (actually OnStar not available at all). Also the allroad's on pavement handling is better and smoother then any of the two Cayennes. They do feel more like trucks. The interior in the allroad also appears to be more understated and elegant. Needless to say the AUDI materials are real, vs the Cayenne's painted plastic.

Favorite Features

Fit and finish Ride quality Height adjustable suspension Exclusivity Smart Interior design Fender flares, skid plates Free maintenance (US only)

Suggested Improvements

Fuel economy Side bolster on front seats 3-point sport steering wheel as found on RS6, TT and S4 OnStar System unreliable

Review

We have put almost 7k miles on this car since we purchased it it the end of Jan. 03. I was originally going to replace my A4 with an A4 Avant, but travel / space requirements moved me up to the Allroad. This vehicles took some time to get used to after my 1.8T. But, driving to Central Oregon through rain, snow, etc. has been a joy. The acceleration through the mountains is fanastic. I was able to pass at times where the A4 required major advanced planning. The family/ friends also appreicate the extra room in the back seat. I have been averaging 20.2 mpg. For the weight of this vehicle, this is not too bad.

Favorite Features

With the adjustable height & AWD of the Allroad, I have been able to go everywhere I had taken my old Exploder, without having to be driving a SUV.

Suggested Improvements

2 Items: a: rain sensing wipers, similar to BWM's; b: better sunroof design( it can not be opened completely w/o getting your ear drums thumped).
