Turmoil
I, too, look at AutoSpies sometimes to watch the posts. It's pretty hilarious. The people there are in constant fighting- it's like Lexus vs. Audi vs. BMW all the time! It's much more civilized here. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm assessing all the cars in the high-end class, from worst to best: Jaguar XJ: Old-world British charm just doesn't cut it any ... Read More...
Re: Reliability [reality2]
Well, I myself have had no problems with my Audi dealer, because I am fairly close with my salesman. He's sold me my last 3 Audi cars, and gave us a little special treatment too when we bought the S4 Cabriolet. However, we'll be using a different, more convenient dealer for her, that's just been redesigned- aptly named the Audi Exchange. I bought my first Audi there, ... Read More...
Re: If It's So Good .... [blckislandguy]
Islandguy, historically, in the USA, the big Audi's have horrid resale values(except the rare and powerful W12's). Why? Plenty of variables. One, it is the lowest seller in the HELM market in the US, thus not making it enough of a popular model to warrant a lofty second-hand price. Then there is the Audi name, admittedly by me, not quite as catchy in the US as in the ... Read More...
Re: 2007 Acura MDX interior shots [ivan_99]
An excellent idea now that purchasing is on contention that there is a third row available. Audi has recently scrubbed the notion of the V8 diesel that they use in the Euro markets as it would prove useless to retrofit it for the now-stringent US emission laws. With that being said, the company says it will now use the same V10-TDI from VW(Porsche is also said to use ... Read More...
Re: Need Lease Help [ccap]
Hi ccap. Audi financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2007 A8 SWB with 15,000 miles per year are .00249 and 62%. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are .00249 and 53%. Normally AFS increases residual values by 2% for leases with only 12,000 miles per year and 3% for leases with 10,000 miles ... Read More...
Re: lease numbers for 2007 A8L [navininkc]
Hello navininkc. Audi Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2007 A8 4.2 long wheel base model with 12,000 miles per year are .00249 and 54%, respectively. Manufacturers generally increase their support on vehicles as the model year progresses. I suspect that Audi's money factors on the 2007 A8 will ... Read More...
Re: Trunk hinge problem [emauss]
I haven't heard of any more problems than other HELMs, and way less than any 7-Series and S-Class. I am very wary of the 7-Series as I had one that basically imploded. I see Audi light years ahead of BMW and MB in quality and reliability especially on the new models. The surveys won't reflect this until the 2007 and 2008 years. And there is no way the new Lexus compares ... Read More...
Re: May be getting closer [blkhemi]
Since you are getting the awesome Audi S8, another high perfomance car might be overkill. Since you are accustomed to the Audi A8L W12, another similar type of HELM like the Audi A8 is probably the best bet for you. I think the S600 with the V12 is the way to go since you had to part with your W12 (that must have been a very tough day!). The S600 and the A8L W12 are the best ... Read More...
Re: A8L vs M-B S550 4MATIC [shrinkrap]
The rear visibility is a bit tight, but it has not been a problem for me. All A8s come with standard Audi Parktronic which is a great way to measure your distance from another object not just when backing up, but going forward, and even on the sides. However, for the 2007 year, the A8L will have a rearview camera with a trajectory line system to show you exactly how you ... Read More...
Re: GS ain't no HELM [oac]
I don't think it's necessarily Lexus alone that will be trouncing Mercedes-Benz in coming years... there are three main companies that have really upped their ante, and one is supposedly going to be as high of a seller as BMW and Mercedes-Benz by 2010: Audi- strongest MB/BMW competitor, because it has luxury and German engineering Infiniti- very sporty; closer ...
