Awesome car with painful seats
By mooreslawcars on
2012 Audi A6 3.0T Premium quattro 4dr Sedan AWD (3.0L 6cyl S/C 8A)
2012 A6 is a triumph of technology and if you option it you can get amazing nav, heads-up display, adaptive cruise control that works in the most stop & go of traffic.
In dash display and 7 inch pop up displays are great and more in the line of sight (and hence ? safer) than typical nav systems.
The night vision system is not helpful to the extent that it only seems to show pedestrians at certain midrange distances and doesn't appear to be programmed to detect anything else (deer).
Shuts down at above 77 degrees F. Unfortunately design rounding the side bolsters of the seats up into the shoulder blades makes the seats painful to sit in (average ht, wt male) so will likely be selling car.
Adaptive cruise control in stop&go traffic, heads-up display and a lot more balanced ride than prior two generations of A6.
Great interior use of space.
Gas mileage rocks - same daily route 2000 A6 18 miles per gallon (2.7T), 2006 A6 20 miles per gallon (3.2), 2012 A6 23 miles per gallon (3.0supercharged).
The drivers seat needs to be redesigned so the side bolsters don't curve around into one's shoulderblades - quite uncomfortable for me (average height & weight).
Also not a lot of padding in the center part of the seat though that is a minor issue.
Fourth Audi I've owned and the only one where seats have been less than great.
Trivially, would be nice if nav display could should satellite radio station logos.
