Considering buying 2007 Audi A6 3.2 4D with 60K miles for $24K. I know I'll need the extended warranty so I'll prob add $2k to the price. The Car is loaded * Premium Package * Convenience Package * Navigation System * Sunroof(s) * Leather Seats * Front Seat Heaters Just worried about the high miles. Is this a decent buy?
I was also torn between these two cars. It came down to reliability and hp for me. This car is my daily driver and I cannot afford to have it in the shop at all. Therefore the Audi was out. Why pay for an extended warranty. Then you are expecting to have problems with the car. I just couldn't buy a car that pretty much required getting an extended warranty. Extremely ... Read More

When you get right down to it... almost every accident is the result of human stupidity, carelessness, inattention, or lack of skill. Personally, I don't believe there are any "accidents". I have not examined a lease for this purchase. Any advice? Sorry to be so vague but I wasn't even in the market for a car until I got on this forum and found the prices ... Read More
That has been a recurring theme for me -- the '05 - '07 A6's (for instance) are very similar. My all optioned '05 does not have a backup camera. Most of the '07's don't either, but it can be had. A new '07 A6 configured as mine is would be almost impossible to pick out from a lot full of 05's - 07's. New functions, features, safety, or whatever haven't come ... Read More
Just bought a loaded 2007 A6 3.2 from Carlsen Audi in Palo Alto, CA for dealer invoice price. Very fast process via Edmunds quote request. Apparently they had received 4 truckloads of Audis the day before so needed to unload them at what appears to be a good deal. I was a little disappointed to find out that I had to pay somewhat hidden $190 prep fee and $300 Bay Area ... Read More
Shipo, I am with you -- well, at least I WAS with you on this one. Now, well, I'm not so sure. The Infiniti did have a 5 speed auto which did seem odd, but, hey, the Cadillac also had 5 cogs in their auto too, so I somehow thought to myself, well. . .maybe these 6 and 7 speed dudes are more about quantity than capability. I'm this way: no ... Read More
I know what you mean, I just made the leap to HD DVD and HD Tivo with DirecTV and the three LNB and the receiver with dual HD tuners. My first HD DVD just came today, "Serenity." Shhh, don't tell anyone, I could actually possibly, maybe, perhaps, actually see keeping this A6 beyond the lease. Audi's C5 came to the US in 1998 and remained pretty much the same through the ... I agree with the general sentiment of Domenick's post and those of others which question the value or enjoyment of reading "I've found the golden car at the end of the rainbow" claims, although I do understand the emotion behind such claims when they are offered in the spirit of "I'm in love with the car I just bought and I want to sing it from the rooftops." As some of ... Read More
Here's the information that you're looking for, petrie3. You never mentioned how long you want to lease this car for and what sort of mileage allowance you need, so for now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different. Audi Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 ... Read More
Hi johnscar. The lease money factor and residual value that you were quoted for this car are right in line with Audi Financial Services' current program for it. This is always a good sign because it means that the dealer you are working with is not trying to mark up your car's money factor to add additional hidden back-end profit to your deal. Now let's take a look at this car's ... Read More
My lease is about up on my 2003 4.2 A6 and i am looking for a 2007 4.2 A6. What are the residuals and MF for Sept.? any other incentives like the dealer cash for non-AFS leases, etc. I am coming off an AFS lease. Any credit for returning Audi/AFS customers? Thanks much for your help.
About a month ago, I began researching and test-driving cars in the category being discussed on this forum. Decided to sign up and share my experience. So, here goes… Sidebar … CR and JD Powers didn’t seem like much help, since they show that (to take the recently release JD Powers Dependability study as an example) 2004 Lexus owners typically had one or two problems; 2004 Cadillac, BMW, Infiniti, Jaguar, and ... I do have a fondness for the German cars we talk about here. It is somewhat confusing that they do seem to follow (in some respects) rather than lead in the HP (and more importantly but hardly ever mentioned torque) contest (I almost said "war.") The M comes out with 280HP whilst BMW has the 225HP -- and while Audi does have a 265HP V6 bi-turbo (which was at that moment ... Read More
"I presume that 46% residual is an ALG number, which is what most private banks use. Shows you what residual support by a manufacturer is worth." Yes... Audi is either being realistic or they are helping to create a self-fulfilling prophecy. ALG's annual awards for brands holding their value went like this for 2005 ... Luxury Brand Residual Value Rankings BMW Lexus Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Acura Infiniti ...in that order. "Below ... Read More
I decided to try to take advantage of August deals and went about looking for a new car to replace my 2003 Honda Accord V-6. I was attracted initially to the BMW 5 series in the form of a 530i. The car looks good, gets out of its own way, rides well in the standard version, and you can get most of the bells and whistles. The problems were (1) that ... Read More
Cargo net is standard pretty much across the Audi line in all the trunks. Ask your dealer to give it to you.
Hello jjomalley. The money factor tat you were quoted for this car is much higher than Audi Financial Services' current buy rate for it. Its current 36 month buy rate for the '07 A6 4.2 Sedan is only .00140. You're right, the dealer that you are working with may be trying to mark your car's buy rate money factor up to add additional back-end profit to your deal. You definitely should ... Read More
