Currently driving 2003 A6 2.7T with 92000 miles. I bought off the lease and purchased an "Audi" warrenty good til 100K or 1/2010. Basically has been a great car. Previously had $1400 or warrenty work to replace some airconditioning fans but nothing else since coming off the lease at 50K. All scheduled maintenance has been done at dealer. Ok I have a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T and recently the engine is not working right. after coming to a stop I will step on the gas and the gears wont get caught to turn the wheels. Instead the engine revs and the car rolls until the the wheels work. I am thinking this can be a transmission problem but I really dont know. Hi camps I have the same problem with my 2000 Audi A6 2.7T. I haven't figured out why the engine bucks like that, but, the mancanic said that my timing belt is about to go. I have a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T with HP2 4-Piston High Performance Front Brakes. I am tying to get the caliper off to change the front rotors and pads. When trying to get the slider pins off, I removed the caps and than inserted a 7mm hex key to remove the bolts. The 7mm hex key doesn't grip anything as there are just round holes. I had one of these -- I'll give you some input: 1. What should I look out for that is specific to this model/year/engine? Nothing that I know of -- the 4.2 is thirsty, but the thing is powerful and smooth and sounds great.
