This is my second 1999 Audi A6. Both cars have proven to be very durable. Each car had the same minor issues, ie: broken mirror adjust switch, et cetera. (easy fixes) The build quality is top level, classic styling , decent power, and unstoppable in any weather. I have done most of the things people complain about in their reviews, but they don't seem to understand its routine maintenance, control arms, timing belts, and others. That being said, if you maintain a car like this properly, it will last a very long time. Owning a high end German car is a commitment (but ultimately very rewarding) , if your not willing to pay, get a generic Japanese luxury car, what a tool you'll look.

Bought it with 18000 on it,now it's
57000,no problem whatsoever .At first I
thought I stepped "down" after
driving '93 740I for awhile.Perfomance
felt kinda "sluggish".Then I realised
than if U leave transmission in the 4
position there is not much difference
between either two.I switch in D only
on freeway,as soon as speedo shows 80.
Works for me.I do most of the cars out
of holeshot.Torgue is not what the
number says,it's how and when it

Very poor build quality for a $35,000
car. Does not compare in quality to
my Acura 3.2 TL-S and lacks standard
features found on comparable cars.
Audi repairs: replace gas gauge,
replace digital dash, replace door
hinge, rebuild driver's seat, replace
rear seat back latches, front grill
inserts fell out. Overall bad value
for the money. Audi is not a quality
builder of cars.

I just purchased this vehicle with
39,900 miles on the clock and to date
no problems. The 2 year/100,000 mile
Audi Assured warranty sealed the deal
for me. The car is extremely smooth and
fast - although acceleration off the
line is not quite what I expected.
The dealership has been great so far.
There were a few cosmetic features that
they fixed for me and the car is
I would recommend this car to anyone
providing they buy Audi assured.
