I haven't had any experience with the CVT but I had an 06 A4 turbo Quatro and it was really fast and responsive (like my c-5 Corvette) but it broke down 2 times in less than 6 months(lucky it was under warranty) the coils kept burning out. But you gotta remember its made by Volkswagon. Get the Acura alot better track record. Regards sc
Hi All, About to purchase my first Audi here - 2010 A4 CVT Premium with 17000 miles CPO for $28,500. Forgive me if this has been answered before, but what is the verdict on the CVT issues? I am really concerned about these things now. My other alternative is an Acura. I test drove the car and it seems fine, but will be driving it again this Friday. Can someone provide ... Read More
While I agree that it is possible to come close to a smooth stop with work...it is always work in city driving. I did borrow a 2012 A4 while my 2010 A4 engine was taken out (by Audi to repair the oil consumption problem). The 2012 A4 model did not have the grabby break issue to the same degree as the 2010 in stop and go city traffic. It was acceptable. ... Read More

First off, is there any major mechanical fixes from the 2009 to 2010? Or will I be fine with a 2009 CPO? A dealer near me has a 2009 CPO A4, 33k miles, automatic, Premium plus w/ Nav, and some other features for sale for $29,900 online. Do you guys think I could get this car out the door for $27k-$28k? Or is that even too much? Thanks! PJ
I have (correction, my wife and I have had) twenty-nine Audi's, three BMW's and two VW's since the mid 1970's. We currently have a 2011 Infiniti FX35 AWD Premium and a 2012 Acura SH-AWD Advance. The Acura, upon first test drive (in a day with several test drives over identical routes and speeds, etc) was "close to" a 2011 Audi S4 Premium+ without any additional options (that is, it did not ... I just purchased a 2010 A4 with 17,000 miles and find it impossible to bring the car to a smooth stop. It is not acceptable. . . .I can tell you that the Acura is not an Audi (DOH!) but as mine is equipped (2012 TL SH-AWD Advance Package), it is a capable car. graphicguy & markincincinati - I think the 2 major things you'll both notice that are different between your current & former TL SH AWD & current BMW & Audi are: Steering. For a Audi Forum I love how the TSX has taken over. :) I never understood why Acrua thought they needed a V6 in the TSX, never made sense. If they wanted more HP, then take the turbo engine from the RDX and make it a low pressure turbo engine, say in the 220-230 HP range. This would give the TSX more HP without having some of the FWD turbo issues. ... Read More

Hi pouli100. there really isn't that big a difference between leases and balloon notes. On either one, if you drive more than the mileage that you are allowed, you will owe a penalty at the end of your term. 18,000 miles per year is a lot, but I've seen worse. You definitely can lease with that many miles. The highest mileage allowance that most banks publish residual values for is 15,000 ... Read More

Full disclosure- I am turning in my other audi lease- 08 A4 quattro (sport susp., walnut trim, heated seats, 6spd) with 38 k mileage (about 6k more than I should be with 10 months remaining or $1500 @ .25 a mile) with $22,358 payoff. Lease was $407 a month (a no $ down drive off) + tax. Since I'm underwater a bit on this lease mainly due to miles, I have ... Read More
An audi dealer near me in MA is claiming the 42 month lease deals are better than 36 month ones. Do you have the money factor and residuals on various mileage (10k/12k/15k) 42 month leases? Also does audi maintenace plan increase residual value (it did by 1% when I last leased in 2008) Anyway they claim they will sell a 2010 A4 premium quattro with an MSRP of $36,305 for $32,131 ... They have a euro delivery -- google audi euro delivery and all will be revealed. Unless you are going to europe and want to have a "free rental" the airfare and lodging will outdo the discount.
Does Audi have its ED program? I thought ED is good if you want to take a trip to Europe anyway? Otherwise is it not the same as ordering from the dealership? If so why one can save thousands that way?
Here you go, Chris. Audi Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 A4 Avant Premium Plus with 15,000 miles per year are .00098 and 47%, respectively. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
Hi seekingaudia4. Please see my previous post for the specific program info that you're looking for. As far as cash incentives go, Audi doesn't have anything like the $2,500 that BMW is offering right now. The only cash incentives that are available on leases of the 2010 A4 are loyalty cash and the $750 for current BMW owners that you mentioned. Unfortunately, I don't believe that this cash is available to ... Read More

Hi Carman, I continue to cross shop this car with the 3-series wagon, but it doesn't look like there are many 2010s left so I hope I will have better luck with the Audi... Can you please provide me with lease information for a 2010 A4 Avant Premium Plus with 15k miles/year for 36 months? I really appreciate the help! Chris
Carman, I'd like to know the same stats above for the 2010 A4 AWD Prem sedan with auto. I am comparing A4 and BMW 328i base sedan. I noticed BMW just added a $2500 rebate for lease, but also lowered its residual a lot, possibly modified the MF too, so the end result may not be too different than the last month. Did Audi do anything similar? I know they are ... Read More
The following article gives details on the $1500 BMW if offering to move up from an Audi- I saw this article today and added my thoughts to the blog discussion that follows the article- http://www.autospies.com/news/BMW-Launching-Direct-Strike-On-Current-Audi-Owners- -Is-THIS-Enough-To-Make-Them-Defect-52067/ Abstract- Last week the Spies brought you the latest ad campaign from Audi, which directly targeted BMW's three recent losses in Car and Driver to Audi's S4, A6 and Q5. But look what we have ... Read More
I am in a dilemma - I am considering the 2010 Audi A4 vs the Infiniti G37X and have driven both cars twice and like them both. Price wise they will be fairly similar. I live in the Chicago area. My biggest issue with the Infiniti is that the shape is going to probably change in 2-3 years tops while the Audi is new and probably has 5 years. I am ... Read More

I sat in a new S4 S Tronic at the dealership. It was less than my A4 2.0T by almost $3K -- wondering what I could live without. I think it was a 2010 S4 S Tronic, Premium Plus, black gloss paint and sat nav, nothing else. It was under $47K. And the MPG's on it were about the same as my 4cylinder turbo. Now THAT's an entry-level-Luxury PERFORMANCE Sedan. Nothing ... Read More
As far as I recall, my brake issues were with two 4.2V8 equipped A6's, although I could tell you a story or two about all the parts that had to be replaced on my ONE, new 1997 A8 -- in pearl white, gawd it was purty. But, out of 29 Audis, well, it is like watching the Exorcist 128 times in a row, "It just keeps gettin' better every time!" Seriously, ... Read More
