Brief (for me) Update
Written by: markcincinnati on May 9, 2012 2:25:44 PM
I have now reached 15,000 miles on my 2012 Acura TL Advance SH-AWD. I have had two oil changes and at the second change the SH-AWD "fluid" was changed (very expensive.) The tires have been rotated twice. I keep the tires cold inflated to: front 37, rear 35. I decided to stick with the somewhat crappy OEM tires that came with the car, since they are all-season UHP's and I wanted ... Read More

I turned in my 2009 A4 2.0 with just under 55,000 miles on it --................... Also it used a quart of oil every 2,000 miles, which seemed excessive, although the dealer told me there was a TSB on it that essentially cured that issue. Nupe....my 2011 A4 goes through a quart of oil 1500-2000 mi. apart, changed at Audi's expense (one of the times I'm happy it's leased).

I couldn't even begin to answer your question. Historically, Volvo's live very long lives -- and are expensive to maintain and repair like their German cousin's. Today, I would EXPECT, any car (virtually any) to make it to 150,000 miles with normal maintenance and a few repairs. Now then, the issue is what is the definition of normal maintenance? My wife's last BMW (a 2008) could only have an oil change ... Read More

I had -- my wife had -- a couple of those slightly smaller A4's back in the late 90's, with the, at the time V6 and stick shift (and with the $500 sport package), these were very nice cars; and actually very reliable as I recall. But, those were the days when we were in and out of a car in about 45,000 miles, so even for a German car it ... Read More

No, it takes one day to install the back-up sensors. I live in Cincinnati, the purchasing dealer (where I also purchased the sensors from, and incorporated them into the lease now that they can be capitalized) is in Columbus. 100 miles separate these cities. I travel EVERY Saturday to Columbus. The arrangement was this -- drop off the car, pick up the loaner, then pick up the car the following Saturday. ... Read More

Short answer, no. At this point, an Audi A4 2.0T Prestige + SLine with everything on it except ADS would be a great car. I have ADS, I have, currently both a 2009 A4 Prestige + Sport Pakage (that has ADS) and a 2012 Acura TL Advance. In 2009 but not in 2011 or 2012 Audi A4 2.0T Prestige + Sport or SLine packages, I see less of a need for ... Read More

markincincinnati & graphicguy Funny how the 3 of us are at opposite ends of the financial spectrum in our lives, yet have similar tastes & tolerances when it comes to cars. The seats in my TSX is one thing that I absolutely LOVE! They are thickly bolstered, firm, & super comfortable. After 29, yes, 29 Audis. . .

. . .I can tell you that the Acura is not an Audi (DOH!) but as mine is equipped (2012 TL SH-AWD Advance Package), it is a capable car. Believable as an EL Luxury Performance Sedan -- totally believable. It would be more believeable if Acura had chosen the best available Ultra High Performance A/S shoes instead of the "OK" Goodyear RS-A's. My 2009 Audi A4 was special ordered with the ... Read More

Thanks for the congrats -- here is the Buying Story. I found a website called CARWOO.COM -- which, for a one time fee, allows you to locate and price a car without revealing your identity. Unlike competing web sites that do essentially the same thing, CARWOO takes money ONLY from the buyer, not from the seller (unless, of course they are lying.) I paid $148 which allowed me to send queries ... Read More

A4 reliability
Written by: brepei on Apr 23, 2011 7:46:25 PM
I had an A4 -2006, it was a beatiful car, handled real nice. It was a turbo Quatro and it was very fast and responsive. It only had 25,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2009 and I got it for a good price. But that's when I started having problems, I only had it a few days when it started missing and had no power. I now drive an Acura...had not had a SINGLE issue for 2 years. Good for you. I had horrible experience with Accord and TL with 0 issues when cars had warranty and LOTS of issues when warranty expired. I wouldn't touch Honda any more, only German cars. 0 issues with my BMW, girlfriend's parents have 0 issues with VW.

I really don't want to spoil you joy with the new car but unfortunately the infamous check engine light, particularly right after you drive a brand new car from the lot is not a good indicator of what's ahead of you .... My experience with Audi A4 2009
Written by: lagirl2 on Jul 12, 2009 10:35:39 PM
I recently bought a brand new Audi A4. I know absolutely nothing about cars, but it was cute and Edmunds appeared to have rated it highly in reviews. The day after I bought it, I had to take it back to the dealer for a check engine light. They said it was the fuel sensor and replaced it. 2 weeks later, I got another check engine light. Audi A4 Trunk Size
Written by: jam21 on Mar 29, 2010 11:38:22 AM
I recently purchased a 2010 A4, Premium Plus and disappointed with the trunk size. I found out that it only has 12 cubic feet of space, when I thought that it is 16.9 or 17.0 cubic feet from Edmunds review (and other sites as well) of the exact model itself. Does anyone know anything that I dont? Maybe the 17.0 cubic feet is only for 2009? I am curious to see ... Read More

You can get a brand new A4 quattro premium for less than that 09. With euro cars buy new even if it has less equipment. The less electonic gizmos the better. They ride and handle pretty similar. You should be able to bet a new prem plus msrp 38k for about 36k. The premium would be about 2k less. Go new and save.

It is quattro and they have it listed for 41K, don't know msrp as this model (3.2L) isn't available for 2010. If I remember right, it should be close to 44k or more in msrp.

There don't seem to be many Audis with 100,000+ miles, relative to the numbers sold. Where are the Audis (in the U.S.) with 200,000-300,000 miles? As I recall, the 2007 used a TorSen differential that provided a nominal torque split of 50% front, 50% rear. The new A4 (B8) provides a nominal split of 40% front, 60% rear. Countless articles have been written extolling the virtues of RWD biased AWD.
