2003 Audi A4 1.8T quattro AWD 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl Turbo 5M)
Review
The car is extremely stable, quiet and
fun to drive. AWD is the icing on the
cake. A lot of people complain about
the 1.8T engine as not "powerful
enough"; I contend they should have
bought the 3.0 V6 then. The 1.8T
provides more than ample power and has
plenty of go.. but it's not a 220 HP v-
6. Compared to other entry level
luxury cars, I feel the 1.8T with 5
speed manual is one of the better
offerings. Ride and handling are very
impressive. If your looking at any
entry level german cars, you should at
least drive an Audi. It's not for
everyone, but I sure do like mine

The Audi A4 is a blast to drive. Its
amazing that a 4 cylinder can feel so
much like a 6. This car has the power
to get up and go. But, sometimes it
does lag. The car is comfortable, with
really nice features. The attention to
detail Audi did with this car is nice.
The car looks great...and is a real
bargain for under 30K. The only bad
things are that you dont have power
seats or stereo controls on the
steering wheel.

I love this car. I live up in ohio,
where we have all the season to enjoy,
and this is the perfect car for it.
From blasting through the snow, to
opening the sunroof, and flooring it
on the freeway on a summer say, this
car rocks!

Superb handling, and incredibly sure-
footed thanks to quattro AWD.
Suspension offers a great balance
compromise between comfort and
handling. 3.0 engine is smooth and
powerful. Interior is stunning. All
in all, a joy to drive.

Well-balanced car! Excellent build
quality, rides great, and very
handsome, stylish, and artful
interior/exterior design. The quattro
system is awesome! Save your $$, forget
the bimmers and the benzes... this car
is excellent all-around (especially in
the northern climates).

Engine coils failed one by one on my
brand new A4. I heard the same thing
happening on other cars. Audi must
issue a recall.

so far, so excellent! went with 2003
after after unable to find all options
i wanted on remaining 2002... dolphin
gray exterior is understated yet very
elegant (much positive feedeback
regarding this color)... steering
wheel on 3.0 quattro now comes with
radio control buttons... i happen to
love the "sport" suspension, but if
your goal is a "cushy" ride, don't get
it... finding myself coming up with
errands to run as an excuse to drive
the car (!)

Quality made. Looks great. But
the engine is a failure. Below 2200rmp
nothing moves. Then, when the Turbo
kicks in engine gets VERY noisy.
This car has deserved a much better
engine.
Advice to Audi: take the 1.8T out and
replace it with VW's VR6 from the GTI
