2003 Audi A4 1.8T Fwd 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

After great initial enthusiasm for this car I have become very disillusioned. I have had ignition coils replaced twice (once stranding me 400 miles from home), more flat tires than ever in my life, squeeks and rattles, seatbelts that get wet when it rains, on and on. I love this car, but I can't afford to keep it now that the warranty has expired. It's cost me $2000 in the last two months in repairs. It's great to drive, but too unpredictable to enjoy all of it's wonderful features.

Favorite Features

Interior illumination, comfort, feel.

Suggested Improvements

Improve quality of engine and components. Power and leather seats should be standard.

2003 Audi A4 3.0 quattro AWD 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

In this "maintenance-free" first year, my A4 had headlight problems, low oil problems (I don't drive hard either), vibrations and major engine problems. My engine problems consist of a number 1 & 5 error, which is one tiny step away from replacing the entire engine. It appears that only 4 of the 6 pistons are working.Lovely! I feel this car is one of the sleekest cars on the market and a killer performer. However, the reliability, fuel economy and price (mine=38000) are so bad I don't recommend this car to anyone. If you love AWD and Audi, go with the A6/A8. Audi doesn’t cut the same corners with the A6/A8 as with the A4. But you will pay the big bucks

2003 Audi A4 1.8T Fwd 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

Quality made. Looks great. But the engine is a failure. Below 2200rmp nothing moves. Then, when the Turbo kicks in engine gets VERY noisy. This car has deserved a much better engine. Advice to Audi: take the 1.8T out and replace it with VW's VR6 from the GTI

2003 Audi A4 3.0 Avant quattro AWD 4dr Wagon (3.0L 6cyl 6M)

Review

The only real car to get if you want a sporty AWD car that hauls like an SUV but gets 25 mpg. I love the looks and build quality of the A4 Avant. I literally can not think of another car that I would pick right now to replace it. Get the Bose, it's awesome, save your money on the Nav, it's just okay.

Favorite Features

Bose, Xenon, interior quality and design, exterior design - love the 03 model not the remade 06 version so much.

Suggested Improvements

Fix the way the water sprays out of the windshield washer, it just streams out instead of a wide spray, goofy.

Engine coils failed one by one on my brand new A4. I heard the same thing happening on other cars. Audi must issue a recall.
