hi , i bought an audi a4 2002 and the car has couple of issues. The first and probably biggest is the engine. I put the diagnostic system on and i got that all four cylinders miss firing, i pulled the packs off one by one and i found out that the second cylinder was not running. Hello audib5: While you do make some valid observations in your rant on daget1, I have to point out that at least in prior years, the Audi manuals that I am familiar with DID spec the timing belt change for 90k (although I can't comment on later models). Hello: We just bought an a4 quattro, 2002, 3.0 auto. I think there is an electrical drain as the battery is fairly new. I have an older A4 (2002) that has had its share of problems. The problems for the most part have been corrected by the dealer ...however one must stay on top of them to ensure that it has been done correctly. Hi. My advice,as an Audi owner, is not to buy any Audi product: new or used. The time, effort and money to keep Audis in proper running order is way beyond normal. They overcharge for parts and labor exceeding any others for the quality of parts. This model A4 with high mileage will probably need a new timing belt. That alone is over 1500 bucks. One item to look at. About 2 years ago, Audi sent out a notice to 2002 A-4 owners advising them that they would extend warranty on engines that developed or failed due to sludge issues. I remember receiving this item and unfortuneatly don't remember the bulletin number or any other info on it. This would be a good thing to look up as I think it extended the warranty ... Hi, I plan on buying a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T with 98,000 miles on it. Is there any mechanical problems that come with that year modle Audi? The car is in California and I live in Arkansas so i am unable to test drive it. Read More...
