I'm curious where that 163 lbs comes from. I agree with you that lighter is better, especially for handling in this car, I have the 2006 A3, 2.0T, so I agree, lighter up front, more balanced, better choice than 3.2 engine. However, you can just "chip" the 2.0T and your instantly faster than the 3.2 even in a straight line, which by the way, the V6 isn't even sold anymore. The ... Read More
I have a 2008 A3 2.0T. About a year and a half ago the transmission starting bucking between 2nd and third gear when i did a hard accelerate from a stop. It would hesitate and then sort of slam into gear. First Audi said nothing was wrong. Then they said it was the mechatronic, which they replaced a year ago. It didn't fix it. November 2009 they replaced the entire transmission. ... Read More

I was skimming through all the replies trying to find a solution for my transmission DSG jerking issue in my 2008 Audi A3, actually been having this issue for 1.5 yrs now roughly a couple of months after buying it brand new. I believe my odometer is at 33k now, but I notice the jerking issue back when it was around 10k. At ... Read More

I just got my 2009 A3 1 month ago today and I am very disapointed. I have a white one with the S-line and Open Sky package. I purchased the car and noticed a strange noise every time the car shifted gears. At first I thought it was cheap gas, because it had a pinging noise. I called the dealership where I purchased it from and asked them what octane gas ... Read More

Hello there, I really like the A3 (am coming from a BMW 330xi and need something smaller), but haven't seen much discussion on pricing for the 2009 models. I'm still balancing whether to go DSG or manual, and here's my first "internet only" offer from a dealer in Virginia. How does it strike you in the Audi community? The following is full description and Costco/internet price for an in-stock 2009 2.0 ... Read More
I heard the same thing. So which is true--overpriced or no supply? I am not sure. One thing I do know is that it is a great car. I wish I could get my hands on the TDI version. If what I read is true maybe late in 2009.
The order is for a 2009 model and I have been trying to get it approved since June!

I'd tell him that you would much rather special-order an '09 that has just the options you want, instead of paying top dollar for an over-laden '08 leftover that has "junk that you don't want"...particularly if you want to talk him down on the '08 leftover. You can also mention that you know that Audi has been accepting 2009 orders on their computer system for a couple of months now, so ... Read More
Things that I would have liked to have seen: a) A diesel motor option. b) Some exterior color that's NOT on the VW GTI list. Currently, the Azure Blue that's supposed to be available for 09 is on a "delayed introduction". I noticed the 2009 A3 has Meteor Grey as a color choice. Has anyone seen this Audi color in person on other vehicles? I know that sensible people will differ on matters of taste, but I'm just interested in any impressions.
Hi all, Been awhile since I've really been active on Edmunds. Wife is thinking about an A3 and if I heard correctly, isn't Audi now offering a European delivery program (finally)?
