Pre-2008.5 revision? Ah, that might explain another piece that came out at closing. It turns out that there was some sort of giveback in the price that hadn't been mentioned and the issue was that the 2.9% financing that we had been offered wasn't technically eligible to be combined with it. At a dealer in CT, I was offered $200 under invoice for a nicely loaded 2008 A3 and $2000 under invoice for a pretty bare bones A3. I passed on both because he lured me back to the dealership when I told him I was going with 2006 pre-owned by telling me the fully loaded one was $2000 under invoice. HI, I'm considering trading my wonderful, precious Z4 to a more practical Audi A3. I need to drive a lot more in the future in a more demanding climate etc. etc. Anyway, I checked the pricing in Edmunds, and the MSRP of a 2.0 T with automatic transmission and the options I wanted was $33,070. Things that I would have liked to have seen: a) A diesel motor option. b) Some exterior color that's NOT on the VW GTI list. Currently, the Azure Blue that's supposed to be available for 09 is on a "delayed introduction".
