Review

Of the 9 European cars I’ve owned, the ’94 Audi 100cs Avant wagon is by far my favourite. I paid $7,500CAD in September 2003 with 198,000 km (118K miles), from my local independent Audi/VW garage. Since then, I’ve clocked 80,000 km of relatively trouble free miles with the exception of front end suspension work, thermostat replacement and brake work ($1900CAD), all common repairs for any high mileage used car. As typical of late Audis, the body and paint are solid showing only superficial rust - not bad for a car that’s seen 14 years of winter road salt. As for performance, it’s no rocket off the mark, yet at highway speeds of 160 km, it’s like driving on glass - yeah it's all about the Quattro!

Favorite Features

Quattro, the best handling car save rear drive BMW M5. For this reason my teeenage sons would rather drive the Audi instead of their mom's Saab 9-5 Aero. Bose audio system is awesome, it's set up perfectly to the wagon and let's not forget Audi's fit and finish: it's second to none.

Suggested Improvements

Manual tranny for the A6, although the newer Audi bi-turbo Allroad does offer a 6 speed.

Review

I purchased the '94 100S from a family member who kept it in pristine condition. I love this car... it handles so nicely, it's quiet and smooth and even though it's 13 years old, it still gets looks and nods of approval. It's been across the country more than several times with no problems, and most recently moving from Phoenix, AZ. to Portland, Or. where I only had to fill up three times for fuel over 1350 miles on the entire trip! She had 173,500 miles on her when I bought her in Dec. 2005 and she now has 203,xxx miles on it and I'm replacing the stock serpentine belt. Again, an amazing car!

Favorite Features

Handling, look, style; the car is the bigger sport class... everything about the car I love, even down to the Audi pearl coloring.

Luxury. Perfomance?

Review

This is a great car. While it may not jump off the line, it is still fun to drive and is very reliable. I cannot find a nicer looking 12 year old car. My '94 100 cs has every feature imagineable, and for a '94 was well ahead of its time. The fine audi leather blended with rich wood grain trim is luxury at its finest. Complete with a v6, power sunroof, heated front seats, power seats, automatic adjusting power mirrors, electronic temp. display, and nice 16'' alloy rims, this is a great car. Performs best on the highway, as the Germans designed it for cruising on the autobahn. Runs just as well at 100 mph as it does at 60 mph.

Suggested Improvements

Pack some more punch under the hood. 30 more horsepower, and a little improvement off the line would make this car a 10 out of 10.

Good choice for a used car

Review

I bought this car at 135k and now it has 257k. No major repairs and parts were very reasonably priced. At a price of ~$6,500 it was a good quality/price ratio. Taking into account all bells and wistles (heated seats, sunroof, power seats) I would highly recommend to buy a used one with mileage in low 100k

Heated power seats, power sunroof, battery is hidden under the rear seat - lasts forever

Suggested Improvements

The original price was too high - although I did not buy it new...

Review

This car is amazing. I bought the car with 120K and drove it until 140K and was still performing great. It was my 16th birthday present and I loved everything about the car. The ride is great and I got many envious looks from other drivers. Very upscale and still after 11 years makes you feel like your driving an expensive vehicle.

Favorite Features

Heated power/memory leather seats, automatic climate control, moonroof, sport alloy wheels, AWD system, Bose stereo, ride, classic Audi fit and finish, beautifully styled interior/exterior, typical german handling, etc.

Suggested Improvements

Not that much punch from the engine. Wish cupholders were a bit larger, engine needs a high octane fuel to run really smooth, brakes are VERY VERY expensive to fix! Also after 11 years a recall notice was sent to me. Otherwise no problems whatsoever. Very reliable car.
