This is the best car I have owned new or used and I have owned ten other cars including a Mercedes. Bought the car new. Great road car that is very agile when you need to pass. Can drive it in very heavy snow and not get stuck. No major problems with the engine or drive train. Replaced timing chain at 65K and again at 125K miles as prevention maintenance. The muffler system lasted for 15 years. Tune-ups every 30K miles, oil changes, brakes about every 50K miles and tires pretty much sum up the cost to drive it for 16 years plus. Honda should think about putting the 2.5 five cylinder in their new TSX instead of the six.
How the car handles on the road, especially at cruising speed. You could surprise a lot of BMW 325s and Mercedes C classes when the car was younger and it is still pretty responsive. The standard features on the car that are options on other cars.
The only thing that keeps the car from being a 10 on build quality is the paint job. On this model year Honda changed how it applied primer and the finish coat to the car. After about five years the primer started coming through the finish coat and Honda did not tell owners about the problem.
We have owned this car for 7 years and I have had to replace almost every major part except the motor. Trany 128,000 miles, starter, alternator, axles, 02 sensors, seats are torn etc. This is the worst car that I have ever owned. if Acura is one of the best car lines in the world I would hate to see the worst. would never buy an Acura because this was such a lemon.
The inline 5 made for a smooth drive.
Better quality parts. Locate the oil filter to someplace that doesn't take a babies hand to get to it.
I absolutely love this car!!! I bought it from my brother who beat the tar out of it and she still runs and moves like a champ after 15 years and 365,000 miles. Back seat is a tad small for the car seat, and cup holder would be a plus... But all things considered, I plan on dropping a new engine sometime within the next year just for the sheer joy of driving it.
smooth shifting, gas mileage, large trunk and overall body styling
cup holders, more leg room in the back, cheaper replacement parts
A great achievement in engineering. At the time of release, the Vigor just didn't attract a big enough audience to keep up the pace with the lexus 300 series (which wasnt built as well as the Vigor at the time). This car has the total package for the mula, and still outperforms many modern sedans. I've driven many cars, and this design is very impressive. They are quickly turning into classic collecter items all over. Classic lines, fun to drive, and reliable even over 200k. Test drive a Vigor if you ever spot one for sale. If it doesn't impress you, then it hasn't been maintained well. I will have this car until they don't make parts for it anymore!
Acura Vigor, the name might sound too strong, but pull back the seat, put the trans in D4 and raise the gas slowly, you will feel the difference which you cant experience in a new mitsubishi eclipse(e.g). Honda has done a great job on this car, I tested it and it ran 0-60 in 8secs where consumer guide said 8.8secs(idiots). Anyways, this is a car that you will enjoy in every aspect, with 8 channel surround sound(4tweeters and 4speakers) if u can spend u can set-up 8 speakers along with a sub and make the worlds best sound system or upgrade 2-way speakers in the front and 3-way speakers in the back panel with a 10inch sub in the trunk as I did and ENJOY! For $4000, i bought a BMW M3 kicker lol
Alot of front area space(i dont care if 2people cramp in the back). By the way sport sedans have small back seat space, even the G35. Great leather interior, a classis sedan inside/out :)
I wish it had a turbo charger, it would have gone 0-60 in 6secs.
