OK guys, we've been doing a lot of bickering disagreeing on the board lately. Let's try something different. If you've got any kind of driving experience (whether via test drive or ownership) with one of the ELLPS cars share with the group. I'll go first. Go to the bathroom & set your DVR, this is going to be a decent sized post. Acura TSX: As you all know, I own a ... Read More

The clunker was a 1990 E30 BMW 325iA coupe. It only had 82,000 miles on it, but was neglected. I had a new radiator put in, a new set of tires, & an alignment. The car drove great as a BMW should, but it had trouble passing New York State inspection. After it passed, the mechanic said to me that I should either find a donor engine or start paying him ... I agree with you 100% fedlawman. Even though my 2010 TSX is equipped with an automatic, it is the best automatic I've ever driven. It holds shifts in M(anual) mode until I (the driver) flicks the paddle on the right for it to upshift. Even in S(port) mode, as long as my foot is planted, the revs will keep climbing to the redline before the transmission upshifts. I've heard the TSX ... Read More

Until very recently Acura parts for the TSX were Honda parts - it is after all a Euro Accord. I think this year Acura is starting to actually put Acura markings on some of the parts - like the windows. But in reality, for the TSX, the parts are still Honda parts - and there's nothing wrong with that - unless you're one of those snobs who think that the marked ... Read More

sounds good even tho you did not write what your sales tax was. the rate here in North Carolina is now 3%. They are trying to make it 6.75% with no trade-in credit (hope it does not pass). the doc. fee in NC is $399.00 and then comes the personal property tax each year.

I passed on the TSX. Dealers won't budge. I guess demand is still high but I just can't get myself to pay what they wanted. Anyway, I bought a brand-new 2007 VW GLI with DSG, PKG#0 for $21,499 + taxes which I think compares well with the TSX, if not better. The TSX is great car but Acura dealerships think highly of themselves too much, IMO.

Not meaning to burst your bubble or anything like that, but I just want to clarify that the 2007 Acura TSX currently has a $1500 manufacturer to dealer incentive. So, for a non-navi TSX whose invoice price is around $26500(actually $26451), the invoice price drops to around $25000.
