4th Generation TL Rattle Issues?

Hey everyone, I was curious to find out, the 2009 TL's have been out over a year now and the 2010 TLs are already here; the 3rd generation TL, especially from 2007-2008 was plagued with a lot of noise/rattle issues, things coming loose and making noise while driving etc I wanted to find out from 4th generation owner if any of you have had rattle/quality issues with ... It's still God Awful Ugly! I have a 2007 TLS with a AEM Cold Air Intake and AEM peformance Chip dynoed at 325 HP. I'll eat any TL AWD for breakfast. Simply put the new TL is a Boat and extremely heavy! I recently had a 2010 TL as loaner and was embarrased driving in it. I felt like people were staring and laughing at me at the light. I purchased my 2007 TLS new off the lot. Silver / Black int. I now have 49,000 trouble free miles. One word of caution .. Brakes are EXPENSIVE! The car is fitted with BREMBO in the Front. Front Brake job only: Pads / Rotors and Labor is around $700! The parts are expensive!!! Other than that I had some rattles and Subwoofer problems but Acura fixed them all. The car rides ... Thanks for the replies so far. No real need for AWD, it’s just because BMW has the option. Meanwhile prices on 2007 TL’s around here started to drop (end of year I guess). Dealers still ask for a lot more and wonder if the additional crap they promise is worth it. Well, I had an '05 TL and am now driving an '09 328ix. Two totally different cars. Do you need AWD? If not, I would go with the TL, it's an absolute beast. I have to absolutely have AWD and Acura just doesn't offer anything that appeals to me. The new TL is a fugly behemoth. Too bad they didn't offer SH-AWD on the previous gen. I lease a 2007 TL with nav ( my 2nd TL ) and own a 2006 325 XI sport wagon/ nav and sport package ( my first and last BMW ). Don't get wrong the BMW is a great car to drive, and there is nothing like the BMW aura. But, the run flat tire concept is bad (see the BMW tire thread ) and the car just isn't that reliable - too many computer glitches. Not sure if the 05 has a dipstick, but ... Read More...

Just a follow up to my previous post re: brakes. My handyman Father replaced the front pads and he said it was the simplest brake job he's ever done. Total cost: $45 for the premium ceramic brake pads. A few days later the back brakes started making some weird scraping noises. I have a 2007 TLS with BREMBO Brakes in the front and they needed replaced at 30K. I still have my original brakes in the rear with 48K on the car now. Original tires were shot at 30K also. The car mechanically hasn't given me any trouble except for the Transmission hunts and pecks for gears once and awhile not sure if I should mention it to the mechanic at Acura ...any ... Read More...
