2006 Acura TL Road Test Ratings

The TL is a sophisticated package from engine to cabin. It's only major shortcoming is its smallish rear seat.

If BMW made a front-driver, it might drive like this one. Acceleration is strong thanks to a 3.2 liter-V6 - which can be paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Handling is confidence-inspiring, but not class leading.

The TL has a sporty feel, with somewhat firm ride calibration and an intimate cockpit. The rear seat is especially tight.

In an attempt to be sophisticated and techie, the TL's interior instead presents the driver with a complicated-looking array of buttons and controls.

The TL is attractively styled, with a distinctive character line running front to back. Build quality and interior materials are top-notch.
